How to Find the Perfect Foundation

Hey guys,

Finding the perfect foundation is very difficult, that's why you need my help! There are soooooooo many different foundations so without help it is nearly impossible. There are two key aspects of picking the perfect foundation, skin type and shade. Once you know these two things all you have to do is buy your foundation.

Skin Type:

Knowing your skin type is absolutely crucial if you want to find the perfect foundation. It is very easy to identify your skin type and it is important to know for all kinds of things, not just your foundation. To find your skin type wash your face with a gentle moisturizer and don't touch your face for 30 minutes. Then with your finger, touch your face gently, check if it comes off greasy or dry or normal. If it is greasy then you have oily skin, if it feels flaky and patchy then you have dry skin and if it feels normal or in between it is combination. Now that you've found your skin type its time to find your foundation shade.

Foundation Shade:

This is the easy part. Below are the foundations for each skin type so once you've chosen one of them, you need to go to the drugstore and try some shades on your skin. In some stores like Sephora and Priceline they actually have a machine that detects your shade for you, just go to the counter and ask. If you don't want to do this or don't have that option you can find your shade by yourself.  Pick 3 or 4 shades that look about your colour and swatch some onto your jawbone. The jawbone will give you the most accurate representation of what the foundation will look like on the rest of your face. Blend the swatches in and check it in natural lighting. Whatever just blends into your skin is the perfect shade.

Once you've found the perfect foundation for your skin type and picked a shade all that's left is to show it off!
