Online Shopping? Is It Worth It?

Hey there babes,

Shopping is so much fun and trust me I do my fair share... plus extra. However as times change so do simple things like shopping. You can buy clothes online from a gazillion sites, you can buy a car online, you can even buy your groceries online. Now you may be thinking, what's the point? Is it worth it? Well that is what I will be talking about today.

Is it worth it?

Online shopping is one of my favourite past times. You can literally spend hours browsing different stores all in the comfort of your own home. However, it's not always the best options, below are a list of the positives and negatives of online shopping.

  • Convenience
It is perfect for a lazy sunday activity when you can't be bothered to do your makeup or get out of your warm, comfy pajamas, just chuck open your laptop and you will have the entire day covered. It also means you don't need to spend time in traffic or driving to and from different stores.
  • More options
Stores often will be selling all of their products online, unlike in stores when things are out of stock and not all sizes are available.
  • Comparisons
Shopping from online stores makes it 1000x easier to compare prices and quality of products. In shops you have to go from one shop to the other just to realise the other shop was cheaper and you have to walk all the way back, hard, right?
  • Crowds
Malls and shopping centres are always busy but when an occasion is coming up, like Christmas,  it gets even more hectic. To avoid all this however, is simple, online shopping.

  • Choosing the right size
It is great to be able to have all the size options available, however you can't try something on before you purchase it. Most sites will have size guides that will definitely assist, but without actually trying something on you don't always know what it will look like on your body.
  • Returns
This is something you must check for on all online sites, the return policies. In stores, usually if you keep the receipt you can return a product within a certain length of time, online stores however, aren't so simple. Even if you can send a product back you will most likely have to pay the return shipping cost. I live in Australia and most brands are based overseas so this can be very costly.

  • Authenticity
Sites with lots of sellers, like eBay, aren't always going to be the most trustworthy. While it's not the sites fault, many sellers can be scamming you or false advertising. This, again, is when you need to check the return policy. It's very easy to make a product look bigger or smaller than intended online, or for people to steal your details, so stay safe!

Of course there are many more positives and negatives of online shopping, but with the ones I have listed you can now make an informed decisions whether or not you think it's worth it.

Lots of love,
