10 Little Life Changes to Improve Your Mental Health


Hey all!

Your physical appearance and health is not the only thing you must look after and care for, you must also look after your mental health. This can be very difficult to know how at times, so in this post I will share with you 10 easy things you can do to help improve your mental health.

1. Drink more water 

This one is rather obvious as it has many health benefits and when you feel physically healthy you will also feel happier and more active.

2. Colouring-in books

Colouring is a fun and effective way of dealing with stress, anxiety and depression to name a few. It can invoke happier, simpler times of childhood.

3. Exercise regularly

Going outside and getting some fresh air can't not be good for you!

4. Eat well

This is both good for your physical health and your mental health because it can actually reduce the dips in mood associated with anxiety.

5. Read more often 

Reading exercises your brain and helps you stay mentally stimulated.

6. Spend quality time with loved one

By surrounding yourself with friends and family you instantly feel happier and loved.

7. Talk about it

One of the best things you can do when you're struggling or having a hard time is talk about it with someone you trust. Just by talking can be a massive weight of your shoulders.

8. Do what makes you happy 

Whether that is a sport you play or a blog you write, you should always spend some time doing what you love.

9. Treat yourself 

Every once in awhile in okay to spend some hard earn cash on yourself. Obviously not too often but sometimes it is the perfect way to lift your mood.

10. Write a gratitude journal 

This is a concept that involves you writing a daily note on 3 things you are grateful for that day. This is proven to help some people sleep better and feel happier. But it also allows you to acknowledge all the things good in your life.
