People form first impressions in a matter of seconds (seven, to be more precise). What do you think they notice first? Your face, therefore, your skin. If your skin looks dull and dry, they’ll think you’re tired, or even worse, older than you are. Your skin loses softness and elasticity as you age, but this process is also affected by your lifestyle.
It’s not just your appearance that matters. Your skin is the reflection of your health, which means it deserves to be taken care of. If you want your skin to make you look younger, here are some effective ways to accomplish that.

Change Your Lifestyle

The first thing you should do to make your skin look better is to get rid of some bad habits. Smoking is not only harmful for your lungs, it can also speed up the skin aging process and diminish its elasticity.
Alcohol, which goes hand in hand with smoking, causes dehydration and leads to tired-looking skin.
What you eat also significantly affects your skin’s appearance. Processed foods contain a lot of fats and carbohydrates, which are associated with increased chances of wrinkled skin appearance. Switch to a balanced diet full of foods packed with vitamins (A and C especially) and nutrients.

One Day at the Time

Proper and consistent skin care routine, which changes only to adapt the specific seasons of the year (e.g. the stronger accent on sun protection during the summer), is a slow yet safe way to healthy-looking skin.
A good routine includes cleansing with an alcohol-free cleanser, using a toner to repair and smooth out the skin, applying an anti-aging serum, exfoliating (once in two weeks), and applying a moisturizer rich in coenzyme Q10. Remember that there is no such thing as “all-skin-types” products; but luckily there are many quality cosmetics online so you can easily find the one that suits you best.

Lift It Up

If you are looking for quicker and more permanent results, you can opt for a facelift procedure which is no longer reserved for the rich and famous alone. The procedure tightens your face muscles making your skin more toned and tighter.
However, experts who recommend a face lift also advise doing a volume correction along with a face lift procedure. You see, your skin loses volume with age, and if you do only a face lift, your skin will look tighter but not younger.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be injected around your eyes, mouth, nose and forehead. Their function is to provide you with new supplies of hyaluronic acid that your face has lost because of sun exposure and aging. After the doctor injects them into your skin, they instantly plump it up and stimulate the natural production of collagen. If you can stand some needle poking, you will be able to enjoy your rejuvenated skin.
Cosmetic procedures shouldn’t be your first option as taking care of your skin on a day-to-day basis is the best long-term solution. However, they are always there to help since all of the mentioned procedures ensure younger-looking skin in a matter of hours.
