Yummy Goodies That Have Actual Health Benefits

Hey there guys,
Here are three of my favourite treats for when I want a snack or something nice for breakfast. And the best thing is they are all super healthy and high in all the good stuff like protein and brain food.

Berry Bliss | Yogurt

This berry topped yogurt is the perfect way to start off a hot summer's day, with the added health benefit of muesli. 

What you'll need:

+ 1 handful of fresh strawberries
+ 1 cup of yogurt (berry tastes the best)
+ 1-2 tablespoons of muesli

Method:

+ Spoon the yogurt into a bowl then add the muesli and berries on top, and voila!

Tasty Treats | Protein Balls

I have been obsessed with these bliss balls for a while now. They are perfect for a pre-gym snack because they are high in protein and small enough that they don't fill you up.

What you'll need:

+ 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
+ 2 tablespoons almond butter
+ 1 tablespoon chia seeds
+ 12 Medjool dates
+ 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Method:

+ Make sure that your dates are soft and pips are out.
+ Add the dates, chia seeds, almond butter, and cocoa powder into a bowl and beat them with an electric beater until fine.
+ Add the coconut oil and beat until a dough like consistency.
+ Refrigerate for 1-2 hours
+ Line a baking tray then roll the dough into ping-pong size balls.
+ Refrigerate overnight

Chocolate Covered Fruit

So this isn't exactly the healthiest treat, but you could justify your snack by remembering that they are of course fruit. Also this is definitely one of my favourite treats. For this recipe you can use absolutely any type of fruit, my favourites however are strawberries, banana, pineapple and watermelon.

What you'll need:

Boiling water
Milk chocolate
Fruit
Skewers
Toppings (sprinkles, crushed nuts etc.)

Method:

+ Cut your fruit into bite size pieces.
+ Add a piece of each fruit to a skewer.
+ Pour the boiling water into a bowl and place the bowl of chocolate over the top.
+ This is just my way of melting chocolate, you can use whatever method you prefer.
+ Dip the fruit skewers into the chocolate
+ Roll them in your prefered topping (optional)
+ Refrigerate for 10-30 minutes
